AWS Expands Automated Vulnerability Management Service Amazon Inspector to Asia Pacific Taipei Region

Amazon Inspector has officially launched in the AWS Asia Pacific (Taipei) region to provide continuous vulnerability management for localized workloads. The service automatically discovers and scans Amazon EC2 instances, container images stored in Amazon ECR, and AWS Lambda functions for software vulnerabilities and unintended network exposure. This expansion allows organizations operating in the Taipei region to strengthen their security posture using native AWS tooling. Once activated, the service provides a consolidated view of security findings across multiple AWS accounts, prioritizing risks using a highly contextualized risk score. This score integrates vulnerability information with environmental factors, such as network reachability, to help security teams focus on the most critical threats. The automated nature of the service eliminates the need for manual security assessments and complex scaling of scanning infrastructure. Customers in the Taipei region can now integrate these security insights into their existing DevOps workflows and management tools. Findings are automatically delivered to the Amazon Inspector console and pushed to AWS Security Hub and Amazon EventBridge to trigger automated remediation. This regional availability ensures that data residency and low-latency requirements are met for security monitoring tasks within Taiwan.
